The Lawton area is a great place
to live and work. We take pride in our people, businesses
and natural surroundings. That's why the quality
of our air is so important. It impacts our health,
economic growth and overall quality of life.
In an effort to improve air quality, this website
is full of information on how all of us can help
and how to teach our children about the importance
of clean air. The Air Quality Index (AQI), listed
to the left, will be posted each day. The AQI helps
you plan your day's activities. It is an easy-to-use,
color-coded index that lets you know the quality
of our air today. Remember anytime the AQI is in
the orange, red or purple danger zone, consider
adjusting your outdoor activities to reduce your
exposure to air pollution.
